For a Caldari fit, you've got 2 options: ---Resistance Fit--- High Slot -Azeotropic Ward Shield Extender (+748 shield) -Azeotropic Ward Shield Extender (+748 shield) -Ward Shield Amplifier (+15% shield resistance) -Clarity Ward Shield Booster (can't remember the numbers) Low Slot Whatever you want. I put 2 proto damage mods on my Python, but it's all up to you. For extra tank, use Local Power Diagnostic Units. Turrets These are also your choice, however if you want blasters or railguns you'll probably need PDUs in your low slots. Door gunners seem to like Fragmented missiles, but for a front turret I always enjoy an XT-1 Accelerated missile turret.
This fit has a lot of free powergrid to play around with as well as 23.5% shield resistance (if your shield upgrades skill is at 5). On a Myron/Python, this will give 2571 shield and - more importantly - ~3360 effective health. An Eryx will have 3196 hp / ~4177 ehp. If you don't understand resists, allow me to explain: A shot that normally would deal 1000 damage will instead deal 765 damage on 23.5% resists. This means that your shield acts like it has 3360 HP, when it really only has 2571. This comes in very handy when you activate your shield booster, because if your booster ticks for 100 it will effectively be ticking for 130.
TL;DR Equip a shield amplifier to free up some powergrid and make your booster work harder.
---Buffer Fit--- High Slot -Azeotropic Ward Shield Extender (+748 shield) -Azeotropic Ward Shield Extender (+748 shield) -Azeotropic Ward Shield Extender (+748 shield) -Clarity Ward Shield Booster (can't remember the numbers) Low Slot -Local Power Diagnostic Unit (7% base shield, shield recharge, and powergrid) -Local Power Diagnostic Unit (7% base shield, shield recharge, and powergrid) Turrets I believe this fit can only do missiles, but it might be able to squeeze in blasters.. I haven't tried it this build. Once again, follow the advice in the previous fit.
This fit takes an extra extender over the shield resistances. As you can see, your options are severely limited by it. So what good is it then? Well, a Myron/Python will have ~3464 shield and ~3849 effective shield, which is about 500 more than the other fit. An Eryx will have ~4173 hp / ~4637 ehp. Unfortunately, it's got 900 actual shield over the other fit. This means that while it can take a harder beating, it will need to work a lot harder to rep it to full. So, you can hang out in a fight for a bit longer, but you'll need to spend a larger portion of time sitting on the sidelines waiting for your shield to recharge.
I run the first setup with 2 damage mods in my lows, militia missile turrets on the sides, and an XT-1 Accelerated turret on the front. The ship comes out to 905K ISK. If you are running an assault dropship, do yourself a favor and put bad turrets on your sides. Nobody's gonna be using them, so don't break the bank on it. |

Serimos Haeraven wrote:Okay these are my proto-caldari dropship fittings for logistics and assault. I've checked all the modules and they are as good as they can be for each category of module i chose to use for the fits. These have worked out pretty well and although i sometimes take some shields off the eryx to put an afterburner, the shield tank dropship if perfectly fine when you fly it at height ceiling only restrictions.
Python:
High Modules - 2 Ward Shield Amplifiers (Shield resist becomes 30%), 1 Azeotropic Ward Shield Extender, and 1 Basic Afterburner
Low Modules- 1 Jovian Fusion Powerplant (Torque bonus of 17.6%), Light Payload Control System (Missle damage increase 10%)
Turrets - 2 XT-Fragmented Missle Launchers (sides), 1 XT - Accelerated Missle Launcher (Front, Pilot controlled turret)
Explained: This assault fit allows for versitile reactions against infantry units or shield tanks on the battlefield, it's advantage is the range from the main XT-Accelerated turret and the damage is also the best that missle turrets can produce, this coupled with the light payload control system II (10% missle damage increase) makes them even more deadly, and once you get good at leading shots you can really reap the kills in with this, and if hit by a forge gun or proto swarms, the Basic Afterburner makes you able to really get out of a sitation quick, especially when coupled with 1 Jovian Fusion Powerplant which gives the best torque bonus a module can provide.
Eryx:
High Modules - 4 Azetropic Ward Shield Extenders (+750 Shield each)
Low Modules - 2 Powergrid Expansion Units (to support the shields and the XT launchers)
Turrets- 2 XT-Fragmented Missle turrets.
Explained: This fitting allows for the Eryx to play its crucial logistics role; flying at height ceiling as an in-air spawn unit that allows the team to drop over enemy objectives where uplinks would be hard to plant, As well as have a good defense in-case an assault dropship were to attack while flying. Eew... Passive tank, really? |
